Will nation states ever come to the point where the process of capital accumulation will be devoured of violence
According to me the people living in states only accumulate wealth by violence when there is unemployment in the nation or there is poverty. It is inter-related and interconnected. With unemployment comes poverty if it is for a long period of time. The poverty comes when there is lowering of purchasing power of a consumer. There can be unemployment due to many reasons. People of the nation may be unskilled or there might be a shortage of jobs etc.
The race for survival is always on.The people who are left behind in the race use unfair means to survive. According to Keynes, there cannot be a position or time when there is full employment in the region.According to him there is always an underemployment equilibrium.
Further more, Keynes explained that what would happen even if a country reaches full employment rate. He said that all the employees would have purchasing power to attain a commodity say A. The quantity of A being produced would be less as compared to before as there are more people having the purchasing power. As a result the demand of product A would sharply increase. As the demand increase the price of product would also increase. This would in turn increase the wages that are given to the employees of company producing product A. This gets converted into a vicious cycle which would cause inflation in the nation and ultimately break the backbone of economy.
Thus the violence can be curbed bit not eliminated completely from the economic valuation. In future, we hope to indulge in brain wars to accumulate wealth rather than using violence.
