You are one of the developers on a team of 10 working in-house for a large corporation. You've been working on a new "Press Releases" page on your company's website for a few weeks. The project involves the company's Public Relations department, and the company's Social Media team. The purpose of the page is to share the company's most recent press release, and includes a list of the company's officers, and their photos. One of those company officers, the Chief Financial Officer, communicates directly to you that they would like to include an archive of the last 10 years' worth of press releases.
PLEASE WRITE 2 PARAGRAPHS TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS AND EXPLAIN YOUR RESPONSES TO THE SCENERIO:
Regardless of what you think of this idea personally, what action would you take - would you implement their request and add the 10 years' worth of press releases in an Archive on the new Press Releases page as requested? Would you consult your contacts in the PR & Social Media department first? Would you refer the CFO to a project manager? Some combination of those?
When CFO directly communicates to me to include 10 years worth press releases, as a developer firstly I would refer CFO to my project manager. Project manager would be the right person to contact for any modification to the project requirements as he can plan to include this change and also conduct meetings to check for the feasibility of this requirement.
Secondly I would also suggest my project manager to schedule a meeting with company's Public Relations department and the company's Social Media team to check how big the data would be and also to see if we can accomodate the whole content on the company's website. Lastly based on these brain storming sessions and meetings I will design the page accordingly and develop it.
