Compare features such as cost, speed, security, usability, and other factors that may be of significance when selecting DNS for a business. Use Google to look up reviews for your selected DNS.

The three DNS servers that compares here are:

  • Comcast DNS (A home ISP)
  • Google DNS
  • openDNS

The home ISPs has their own DNS server but it will provide only limited services to the users. The domain-IP mappings in the home ISP will be less. So the home ISP DNS server may need to use other global DNS servers for their proper functioning.

The Google DNS server is one which is most popularly used one. It has higher reliability and a favorable feature makes it a hot choice for the web resource seekers.

The openDNS is another important DNS server used by many ISPs. Most of the ISPs use openDNS if their own DNS server fails to find the result.

Cost:

  • The Google DNS server comes free of cost, it can be used as an alternative to other DNS servers. The home ISP DNS server cost will be hidden under the service cost, the DNS service is also comes under the internet package, so it is difficult to distinguish it, but surely it comes with a cost. Speed:

Security:

  • The home ISP DNS Comcast DNS has only nominal security features, it uses the other company security features to give security for the network. The Google DNS provide many unique security features. But the openDNS provided the best security with premium registration.

Usability:

  • For home use the home ISP DNS and Google DNS will be sufficient, they provide free of cost service increase the usability.
