In a study of the accuracy of fast food drive-through orders, one restaurant had
33
orders that were not accurate among
384
orders observed. Use a
0.10
significance level to test the claim that the rate of inaccurate orders is equal to 10%. Does the accuracy rate appear to be acceptable?
Identify the test statistic and the P value.
Let , p be the proportion of inaccuracy or inaccuracy rate .
So, we have to test :
We have n = 384 samples , among those 33 are inaccurate ,
So, sample inaccuracy
Test statistic :
where , p0 = 0.1
So,
p value for both tailed test :
= 2 x 0.179 = 0.358
Note that p value > alpha = 0.10
So, we don't have enough evidence to reject the NUll.
In other words , The accuracy rate is not acceptable .
