A researcher interested in the working habits of students at RCC randomly selects 300 students and
finds that 23% have a full time job.
(a) Did the study use population or sample data? Explain.
(b) If sample data was used, what is the population it was drawn from?
(c) Is the figure 23% a parameter or a statistic? Explain.
(d) Is the variable qualitative or quantitative? Explain.
In this scenario the researcher intrested in working habit of students at RCC. To study this working habit of students researcher drawn the random sample of 300 students from the RCC Campus. After drawing the sample researcher found that 23% of the students (from the sample) have full time job.
A) This study is uses the sample data fir studying the working habit. Here researcher drawn the random sample of 300 students from the RCC . Here 300 students is the sample interest of the study.
B) Here in this study the Sample data is used here as i mentioned above the random sample of 300 students is drawn from RCC CAMPUS. Here the Total students in RCC Campus is population intrest. Here RCC is the population.
C) in this study after drawing the random sample of 300 students researcher found that 23% of the students have full time job. So here 23% is calculated from the sample data so 23% is a Statistic. Here the statistic is the sample function and the parameter is the population function. Or population constant.
D) After drawing the sample researcher have to collect the data to study the working habit. Here the data was collected by researcher is might be qualitative like there intrest , there preference, there routine etc. Are qualitative Variable. Here some variable may be quantitative, but most of the variable are qualitative.
This is the simple answer of your Question.
