Discuss how you might use the sharpe ratio to analyze an investment manager? Are there any flaws to this metric? Are there other measures of skill?
Do you have anything of interest in the markets this week? any particular investments? I mention General Mill (GIS) and Jabil (JBL) which report this week?
Share ratio will be reflecting the Alpha which has been generated by the manager and this ratio will also reflect the outperformance of the manager in respect to the industry and under performance of the manager in respect to the respective industry so this will be providing me with the additional rate of return which is generated by manager in respect to the overall industry it is exposed to, so this will help me in determination of the outperforming funds and the underperforming funds
Yes, this metric does not account for the risk associated with investment and there will be no consideration of the risk in order to generate a higher rate of investment. YES, there are other measures like jensen's alpha.
So this has flawed because this does not consider the risk associated with earning a rate of return for the manager so we will be considering jensen's Alpha.
