Give one sport that frequently get strain injury. State your reason..
Answer:
The human body is made of the skeletal system which has a total of 206 bones divided into two major divisions; the axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton.
Also nearly 650 muscles are present in the body. The bones remains connected with another bone with the help of a connective tissue called as ligament whereas the bones remains connected with the muscle by a tissue called as a tendon.
Both the bones and muscles of the human body help us in maintaining postures and thus exhibiting movements and locomotion.
A strain is defined as that category of the injury which is caused either to the tendons (connecting muscle-bone) or to the muscles itself as a result of the excessive physical strenuous exercises performed by the body like playing football, soccer, and or athletics, swimming and many others.
It is also commonly observed that in the strain injury usually takes place in the lower limb of the body and it remains characterized with the frequent muscular spasms, underlying pain associated with the tissue and a restriction in the movement.
So one such sport which remains associated with frequent strain injury is football.
Reason to the injury: any movement within the human body remains associated with the continuous movement within the muscles; that is the muscles would need to continuously contract and relax in order to exhibit the movements. For this they require a continuous supply of oxygen. However when we perform a continuous strenuous physical movement, the need for oxygen increases by the muscles and also the ligaments which however is not met. This results in a gradual deficiency and a shortage of oxygen within the body tissues thereby ceasing the aerobic respiration and promoting the anaerobic respiration. Also during this event; there takes place a gradual accumulation of the lactic acid and likewise the number of energy molecule; ATP produced ceases. This accounts for a gradual weakening of the tissue due to prolonged fatigue and might also lead to tearing of the tissue during such activities.
Treatment: Treatment to the strain injury includes taking ample rest, using cold compressed oil, applying bandages over the tissue injury site and others
