Find the t-critical values (tcrit) that form the rejection region for a two-tailed test with α = .05 for each of the following sample sizes.

a. N = 10 ________2.262____________

b. N = 17 _________2.120___________

c. N = 27 _________2.056____________

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution :-

a)

for , N = 10

DF = N - 1

DF = 10 - 1 = 9

At = 0.05

/ 2  = 0.05 / 2

/ 2 = 0.025

By Using t table for two tailed test.

t critical = t / 2 , DF = t 0.025 , 9 = 2.262

--------------------------------------------------------------------

b )

for , N = 17

DF = N - 1

DF = 17 - 1 = 16

At = 0.05

/ 2  = 0.05 / 2

/ 2 = 0.025

By Using t table for two tailed test.

t critical = t / 2 , DF = t 0.025 , 16 = 2.120

--------------------------------------------------------------------

c)

for , N = 27

DF = N - 1

DF = 27 - 1 = 26

At = 0.05

/ 2  = 0.05 / 2

/ 2 = 0.025

By Using t table for two tailed test.

t critical = t / 2 , DF = t 0.025 , 26 = 2.056
