Answer: There are three layers of meninges which covers the CNS

CNS- central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), To the protect the brain and spinal cord There are three coverings which covers the brain and spinal cord they are;

  • Dura mater
  • Archnoid mater
  • pia mater

Dura mater is the covering which is located outer most when compare to other coverings and it is thick one among all.

And Pia mater is the thin layer which is very close to the brain and spinal cord,between we can see the archnoid mater.
