Read the z statistic from the normal distribution table and choose the correct answer. For a two-tailed test using α = .0802, z =

Solutions

Expert Solution

For a two-tailed test and for the given level of significance the Z-score can be calculated using excel formula for normal distribution or suing the Z table shown below. Both Z table and excel formula gives the Z value or the probability value from the left of the distribution.

The formula used for Z score calculation is =NORM.S.INV(1-0.0802/2), hence Z is computed as +/-1.750

The Z table:

1. See “Content/Distribution Tables/Z table - 0 to Z” to answer the following questions. The values of probability, or area from 0 to Z, for negative value of Z is the same as given for positive Z by symmetry, i.e., the table values are for + and – values of Z. Don’t forget the area of the left and right half of the normal distribution is .5. See Normal Distribution & Z Values in Videos-Topics In Stat 200 for examples....
