Give a real world example where we would want to use a paired
t-test. You should use an example in your discipline. , type a
short description of the example, and then write your example in
the message body.
The paired sample t-test, sometimes called the dependent sample t-test, is a statistical procedure used to determine whether the mean difference between two sets of observations is zero.
For example, a drug company may want to test a new cancer drug to find out if it improves life expectancy. In an experiment, there’s always a control group (a group who are given a placebo, or “sugar pill”). The control group may show an average life expectancy of +5 years, while the group taking the new drug might have a life expectancy of +6 years. It would seem that the drug might work. But it could be due to a fluke. To test this, researchers would use a Student’s t-test to find out if the results are repeatable for an entire population.
Thus in above example we see that we compare the effect of two medicine of cancer. One improve the life 5 year and other improve the life 6 year.
Thus we can see that second new medicine is more effective than first medicine.
Thus here we use the paired t test in real life.
