logarithm has an very extensive use in real life situation , some of them are mentioned below:

1)Richter scale:richter scale is a scale used in finding out the size of earthquakes.it was developed by Charles richter.it is based on seismogram measured on seismometer.

a=measure of amplitude of earthquake wave.a0= amplitude of smallest detectable earthquake wave.

2)manipulation of large number calculation.

suppose you are making calculation of very large number,

Logarithms are used to describe the changes in the terms of multiplication: in the examples above, each step is 10x bigger. With the natural log, each step is "e" (2.71828...) times more.

When dealing with a series of multiplications and division , logarithms help "count" them, subtract the values , just like addition counts for us and subtraction subtract for us. when effects are added and subtracted.after getting values of product take antilog to find answers

3)measurement of gdp of a country is based on logarithmic calculation.

4) measurement of sound in decibels,these are extra example for using lograthmic calculation.
