Solutions

Expert Solution

The area under the curve on a force (F) Vs time (t) graph represents impulse. If astrong force acts over a body during a short span of time (t) to produce a fixed change in momemtum of the body, that force is called impulsive force (F) and the corresponding change in momentum (P) is called impulse.

Impulse = P

But P = m (v-u)

We know that according to equations of motion,

v = u = at

v - u = at

If t = t, v - u = at

P = m (v-u) = mat = Ft
