Fungi and yeasts are slow growers. To aid their growth in a Petri dish what special media did we use
Dextrose
Fungus is grown in lab by the use of potato dextrose medium and other types of nutrient media containing dextrose are used. Potato is a source of starch which is categorised into glucose molecules and expose is also a glucose. So the nutrient media used for growing fungus is enriched with glucose so that the fungus grows well in the lab.
The media used for the growth of bacteria contains tryptone, yeast extract and sodium chloride. Glucose is not used because bacteria can grow easily without the help of glucose. This media is called as luria and bertini broth.
