There are many software's for data management some of them are ADABAS , Teradata , SCORO , Quick Base.
In Excel you can work on some Statistical analysis but SPSS is a
complete different thing it is in depth for Statistical
analysis.
SPSS comes with built in data manipulation tools like transforming
variables, capturing in excel you have to go through a lot of work
to get the job done.
SPSS have graphics which provides you more analytical
feature.
SPSS have an excellent speed with an excellent performance while
excel have reduction in Data Redundancy.
If you are working in a technical industry or a company SPSS is suitable for you. If you are handling data which is sensitive then Excel should be used.
If you are working on things like regression analysis, cluster analysis SPPSS is suitable for you. SPSS provide features that are in depth. If you are a normal school going student then Excel is best for you but if you are a researcher then there is nothing better than SPSS.
