Business analysis process model:
It is a flow of steps/ activities which must be performed with a view to achieve a desired business result. The follwowing steps are involved:
1. Investigate the situation: Unearth issues and problems behind the situation to have a holistic view of the same.
2. Consider perspectives : Assess the position of stakeholders as well as their perspectives on the business situation.
3. Analyze needs: analyse what improvements can be made to the business situation to get the desired results.
4. Evaluate Options: check various business options to check their feasibility.
5. Define requirements: understand and document the requirements for making changes to the business solution.
Business analysis core concept model:
1. The focus of this model is to provide a standardized framework to analysts so that they all work with a common terminology, independent of methods, perspective, industry or levels in the organization.
2. The model consists of 6 core concepts: Change, need, solution, context, value and stakeholder. All these concepts are equally important and the relationship among these must be holistically evaluated during a project to suggest a way forward.
3. This model is much standardized and fixed in nature than the business analysis process model since it gives a framework that must be followed by BAs while taking decisions w.r.t to a business project.
