Based on different size of droplets as calculated/ reported in part 2, how long they will take to settle down on surface. Use three different size (max, average, min) (Fluid mechanics might help you)

Solutions

Expert Solution

Conclusion: I have assumed all the data required for this problem very satisfactory. The minimal diameter of the droplets is order of micron while the maximum order of drop is in micron. Also I assumed the stokes hypothesis to be valid for this case which might be very practical for smaller diameter droplet but may deviate for larger droplets. So what we observed that the time taken for the larger droplet to settle is very less which is because the gravity force will dominate in that case. While the smaller diameter takes very large time to settle that means it has larger tendency to remain in still air because of buoyancy. Thus if any virus is spreaded due to sneezing,it is because of smaller droplets as they remain in the air for a longer time and in between any person may come in contact with that droplet.

Question 2 The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a value calculated based on the weight and the height of an individual. In a small European city, a survey was conducted one year ago to review the BMI of the citizens. In the sample with 200 citizens, the mean BMI was 23.3 kg/m2 and standard deviation was 1.5 kg/m2 . It is reasonable to assume the BMI distribution is a normal distribution. (a) Find the point estimate of the population mean...

At this rate how long will the sun last? To estimate the age based on this you need to know: Percent of sun currently hydrogen – the sun is about 73% hydrogen by mass 6.5 x 1014 J/kg is released converting hydrogen to helium (You looked up the mass of the sun in kilogram You looked up the power of the sun in Watts (Joules/second) Using these four factors you can come up with the expected life of the sun)
