TRUE or FALSE
Answer: False
in most ecosystems, the biomes of carnivores is less than the biomass of producers
This is because in any of the ecosystems producers (green plants) are placed in the first level of the ecological pyramid which forms the base of the pyramid. In general, the higher the trophic level (increasingly apex predators), the lower the biomass. Therefore, the lowest trophic level has the greatest biomass, and those are the producers.
The biomass of the producer that is geen plants will be in higher number in any eco system. consumers, or heterotrophs of an ecosystem is the next level of the ecosystem which including herbivores, carnivores, and decomposers, rely on the ecosystem's producers for energy.
Consumers ie. carnivores at the next level and when compared base will be more than the tip of the pyramid so producers are more in number than consumers( carnivores).
