What negative effects have resulted from the material changes? Consider the full material life cycle.
Would it actually be more sustainable from an environmental, economic, and/or social perspective to return to materials that were used in the past? Why or why not?
(Can you please not answer handwriting type it)
The negative effects that resulted from material changes include
1. Corrosion : due to interaction with environment, over a period of time the material will rust or corrode.
2. Creep: material will elongate under its own weight over a period of time and fail even if the stress develop in material is less than yield stress of that material. Its a slow phenomina and is function of temperature
3. Wear and tear
4. Cracking
5. Scraches and tear
Returning the material to its original form is not suitable from economic point of view as it will increase the cost associated with the process.
However from environment or social perspective its is always good to bring back the material to its past form as it reduces the chances of failure and maintain the aesthetic
