List and describe three (3) methods to look for employment positions in their area. Evaluate which method they think is best and explain why.
1) Networking
Networking is another word for socializing. A lot of the Job Opportunities at some companies are not advertised for. Those job positions are filled by the people through the network they have developed such as ex colleagues, ex bossess, friends and family in different companies etc. The bigger the network the bigger the job opportunity pool. The more you socialize and create a bigger circle with a good market value you are more prone to get a job in the area of your expertise through the network you have built.
2) Temporary Jobs & Internships
A lot of job opportunities arise from the temporary jobs and internships offered by the companies. A lot of companies hire Temps and Interns in their busy seasons and then hire them as full time employees which is a great way to find a permanent job. A lot of limited time contract based jobs, temporary jobs and internships lead into permanent jobs based on performance and other parameters depending on area to area and company to company.
3) Referrals
Many companies provide incentives to their employees to refer suitable candidates for the jobs present in their companies and get a finders fee in exchange. This is a way in which both the employer and the employee benefit and even the 3rd person who's looking for a job benefits. The employer will get a suitable candidate easily whereas the employee will get the incentive provided and the 3rd person will get a job.
The best method to find a job out of the 3 listed above is through Networking. Through a good networking channel an individual can get into an area of his/her expertise and can get good job opportunities which are not out in the open. All the top notch job opportunities are offered to people through the network channels they have so Networking is the best method.
