Recruitment plays an important part in human resource management. Choosing the correct tool for recruiting is very important as well. While Resume parsing or recruitment tools can help improve the efficiency of large scale or mass hiring, they have certain limitations as well:
- They do not provide insight into job seeker qualities.
- As resumes are not standardized they do not give you an insight
into the quality of prior work done by the applicant
- They cannot provide information on what kind of learning
jobseeker has gained from past work experience
- Any negative information about the jobseeker is omitted, which
you might find out later however you waste resources like time on
them.
- Many candidate do not understand the powerful impact of keywords
and might not use them in the resume although they might be a good
match for the job.
- Are they qualified? Are they available? Are they interested? and
do they fit? are mostly the criteria that should be achieved by job
seekers to get the advertised job. However, more often than not
resume only have information about one criterion i.e are they
qualified with low or no insight in the rest of the three
criteria.
- The candidate might have exaggerated their contribution on the
resume to qualify, and resume does not give you any insight on how
to catch those sorts of discrepancies.
