I SUPPORT THE CONCEPT Of DESINER BABIES

I selected this desision to support designer babies because of its following benefits :

  • Transgenic children are a choice, not a requirement for all parents. For those who disagree, they don't need to engineer their child.
  • Taking folic acid during pregnancy will reduce the baby's risk of developing autism. This is an example of a child's medical modification that is considered morally acceptable.
  • Helps eliminate mitochondrial disorders.
  • Parents can set their own limits for the genetic engineering of their children.
  • The government has no right to control the means of reproduction.
  • Parents are allowed to pass genes to children that they do not carry.
  • It reduces the risk of inherited diseases such as anemia, obesity, diabetes, cancer and others.
  • Promote children.
  • Parents are allowed to give their children a healthy life.
  • Installing a better understanding of genetics for biologists.
  • Increases human life up to 30 years.
  • Helps keep up with modern technologies
  • It can help prevent genetic diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, Down syndrome, spinal muscular atrophy and many more.
  • Less chance of genetic diseases
  • It provides a better understanding of genetics for biologists and health care professionals
  • Eliminates the emergence of known diseases in future generations

The argument for disagreeing the statement is that due to the following facts:

  • Since the technology is so new, it is not known whether children will influence the gene pool. This can lead to difficulties later in the child's family tree.
  • Since most people look for smart, beautiful children with other ideal characteristics, everyone will be relatively the same.
  • The procedure is not cheap and not everyone can afford it. It can create prejudices between "creative" and "non-creative" children.
  • Parents can use this technology for superficial purposes, like deliberately searching for a baby with blonde hair and blue eyes just for looks.
  • They can create a rift in society. It's possible that "designer" kids will be nicer and smarter, and so on. This creates 'chapters' between creative and non-creative kids.
  • Genetics engineers are not perfect people and cannot 100% properly evaluate every gene. Mistakes are more likely to be made.
  • If the operation is not done carefully, the fetus may be accidentally cut off.
  • The technology used is not 100% safe. He is only in the experimental stages at this point.
  • The child cannot consent to changing his body; Therefore, some believe that it is fair because parents do not "own" their children.
  • It is not completely error-free and can lead to fetal death.
  • It may accidentally cause new forms of the disease that scientists do not yet know about
  • Not within everyone's reach and will create a gap in the classroom where only the rich can afford designer kids
  • It removes the individuality of the child
  • It may suppress certain genes that could be beneficial for a child's general development and growth
