Botulism is a rare and deadly condition caused by bacteria Clostridium botulinum which produces a toxins called botulinum under low-oxygen conditions.

Botulism can spread to human is three ways:

  • Foodborne botulism
  • Infant botulism
  • Wound botulism

Food born Botulism- Foodborne botulism happens when a person consumes improperly preserved food or inadequately preserved food such as home-canned or preserved food

Option A- Home canned food- It can cause botulism because of improper preservation or inadequate preservation

Option B- Under cooked meat- Botulism can spread through raw or inadequately preserved meat but as they are extremely sensitive to heat even mild heating and cooking can kill the bacteria and toxin.

Option C- Egg dishes- Botulism cannot spread through cooked food

Option D- Soft Cheese- MIlk and dairy products rarely spread botulism. Properly preserved food are safe to Consume.
