In Infrared of (FTIR) spectroscopy, Intensity is measured as transmittance (%) of the IR radiation with respect to the reference.

A 100% transmittance implies that amount of radiation absorbed by the sample is equal tp the amount of radiation absorbed by the reference. A 0% transmittance implies that that the sample absorbed all of the radiation.
