Personal Protective Equipment:
Four Types of isolation (Contact, Airborne, Droplet, Neutropenic)
Isolation gear required for each type, Examples of illness in each type of isolation
1. Personal protective equipment are the equit use by the health care professional to prevent the spread infections from infectious material
Types of PPE used
1. Gloves- it protects hand
2. Mask- it protect face
3. Hair cap and shoe covers- it protect hair and foot
4. Eye wear.- it protect
5. Face sheilds- it proces face form splash etc
6. Gowns or apron - protect skin and clothing.
The purpose of these equipment is to protect against infection and prevent cross Infection.

Infectious disease is transmitted via

There are 4 types of isolation according to patient conditions
1. Contact isolation- infection spread via context such as patient belonging, or touching of Patient in the case of open wound, VRE etc the patient is belonging mad patient is isolated and precaution Such as wear gown, gloves is taken while entering patient room.
2. Neutropic isolation- when the patient is having severe low count of neutrophils , he is isolated to prevent or protect from germs
3. Airbone isolation- infection disease spread via air such as chicken pox or tuberculosis the patient is use to isolated in a single room to prevent infection to other patients.
4. Droplet isolation- infection spread via droplets when client cough or sneeze like in influenza or SARS and Corona virus, whooping cough etc. This isolated is intended to protect the visitors and healthcare provider who are going into patient room.

Contact isolation- gloves, gown, washing hands etc
Neutropic isolation- wear PPE to prevent bringing of contaminants in the patient room

Droplet isolation- face sheilds, face mask and gloves.
Airbone isolation-N95 mask, gloves, gown, goggles, face sheilds.
Example of illness
Neutropic isolation - bone marrow cancer, leukemia etc
Airbone- tuberculosis, chicken pox
Contact - VRE, MRSA and RSV
droplet isolation- whooping cough, pneumonia, bacterial meningitis etc
