Health communication is very important during pandemics e.g. COVID-19.
Discuss how Saudi MOH communicated with the population during COVID-19 and give examples.
Covid 19 shook the entire world and Saudi Arabia was no exception. In there they have been experiencing various virus transmitted disease from past like middle East respiratory syndrome and so on lately.
Unlike western countries it is an all different world by it's Orthodox religious practices and backgrounds,it is hard to communicate with it's population since many of social media networks are banned or regulated by government.
Hence it makes the job though to inform the public about the outbreak of COVID-19. But government used national television and radio to deliver information on time .
Government also guided the health care workers of ministry of health (MOH) to educate and train people to practice safe measures to protect them from COVID-19.
Opinion
It was indeed a tough task to communicate with the people since the means of communication is limited due to unparliamentary rules that mosty hinder the freedom and choice of people of this country.
Certainly it took a toll on death rates and infected patients. This caused flooding of people in hospitals . It was tiresome for health care workers to deal with the pressure . But initiating stric regulations like lock down and travel restrictions could bring the situation under control for now .
