As the disease is increased and life span of individual is increased nowadays, the population with disease is become higher. The Patients in the UAE are culturally oriented. Health care provider and nurses are shorter in order to provide to care to patient. Nurses are from different countries are appointed to meet shortage. Nurses are different in religion, caste, culture. Nurse should adapt UAE culture before giving to the patient. Nurses are involved to learn most of the habits and dressing that is followed by UAE. If nurses are not adapted to culture the patients are risk to get cultural shock

Trans cultural nursing is ability of nurse to bring all cultural by interacting with people with different culture and provide culturally oriented care

Importance of Transcultural nursing:

It helps to builds a relationship with a patient and provides better care

Nurse help the patient to make decision about health and health care

It helps the people to recover from illness

Nurse can learn about the sensitivity and concerns regarding different culture

It helps the nurse to comprehend the difficult situation and how to overcome situation

Components of culture

In UAE, there are   5 components of culture in the UAE

They are culturally oriented in architecture, lifestyle, music, attire, and cuisine

Architecture:

They adapted emirati styled building which reflects their culture and customs. it is simple in construction. They used palm leaves for roofs with stone guffs

MUSIC:

Yowla   is the dance performed by the bantu people. The traditional dance and music are transformed from one to another generation

Attaire:

The many women wear abaya and headscarf where as men prefer to wear the emirati clothe that is khunda, made from wool or cotton

SPECFIC RELIGION AND DIETARY PRACTICES

Majority people are muslim and accounting for the largest population in the UAE. Whereas Christianity and hindhu are minority in population. Christian are roman catholic and protestant.hinduism and jainisim are followed by majority people from india and Pakistani sindhis

Dietary practices

They use lot a meat, diary, grain, cucumber, tomatoes, dried lemon are mainly featured in their diet

Specific Belief and practices around the health care environment

Gender related issues

People with different roles are in the form of dress coding, decision making, authority, interaction between the two genders, always seek permission to touch patient, need to provide privacy, when male physician examines the patient, female nurse should be there. Male should not speak to unrelated females. Females should not accompany by male

Family role

Large family structure and its impact on health care. The father is playing central role in the family. Eldest brother can take decision in the absence of his father. Women plays the role within family andshe cannot take decision making in her health condition

Social support system

When a patient   got admitted in the hospital, all family and their relatives will visit him and sit along with him

Communication

The most people in the UAE are speaking Arabic language and some of the recording system also Arabic language.

Medication and Procedure

The people of UAE give importance to prayer and fasting. During Ramadan, the people always take fasting that disrupts their health and medication and procedure. In thetime of prayer, nurse cannot give care. She should reschedule medication and procedure according to their prayer and fasting

Ethical, moral and legal aspects

The nurse are expected to provide culturally competent care. If any negligence is taken place hile giving care, severe action will be taken against nurse and providers

Time management

It is difficult to follow time management when in the case of religious programs, practices are contradicted with the care. Nurse should book medication, procedures according to the patient religious

Cultured based nursing care can promote well being of the patient and it serves better to care to the patient when the nurses are fully understood and used the culture of the people. It bridges a gap between the patient and nurses by adapting culture. It helps to know about their food preferences, religious practices, and fasting, dressing, prohibited practices. It helps to know about when to give medication, when to book procedure, w hen patients religious practices contradicted with procedure.It facilities the nurse to keep time.It will not harm patient and family members and receive care thoroughly
