The syllabus functions as a major communication device that provides details of how student learning will be assessed, & about the roles of both student & instructor ,in learning & assessment process.

The syllabus is a description &plan of the course

When the instructor prepares the whole course curriculum, time period ,division of the curriculum in semesters & ways to evaluate student's performance without interacting or discussing the course syllabus with the students ,this procedure is known as independent procedure for creating a course syllabus

Personalized learning for students is the hallmark of effective teaching.At basic level it means,adapting instructions ,assessments & learning environment in response to students needs & preferences.

The need is to continue developing ways by which we can incorporate students in formulating there own course syllabus is the need of the hour. This procedure of creating syllabus is known as Collaborative procedure . Collaborative way is best in making a learner's centered courses to improve the learning experience.
