Outbreaks : Ebola Virus Disease

Ebola virus had a very huge outbreak in Africa.
contact tracing was done in the case of ebola virus , the patients and the contacts were closely watched for 21 days. A person with the disease can spread disease to people in contact with him/ her . So it's very important to identify and isolate them.
1 . The symptoms of Ebola virus are • Fever • Headache •Muscle pain • chills • diarrhoea •breathing difficulties etc.
2. Patients also will experience pain in abdomen , chest, joints, etc.
3. high risk category of contacts are : •the ones who has been in close contact with the infected patients   •touched and cleaned the infected patients surrounding , clothes, or plates.
•health care workers

To prevent Ebola virus, people were told to stay away from areas where infection outbreak is high. Avoid infected people and their body fluids , avoid contact with wild animals like bats and monkeys.

The countries infected with Ebola virus was: Liberia

• sierra leone

•guinea

signs and symptoms

symptomatic • Mild Respiratory Infection

• Fatal Encephalitis

• Fever

• Myalgia

•Headaches

• sore throat

•vomiting.

• Encephalitis and seizures in severe cases

the incubation period for Nipah virus is 4-14 days

To prevent spread :

People were told to cut physical contact and stay away from infected people since there are no vaccines available.
since the virus can be spread through animals , people were also told to not come in close contact with animals like Pigs or mammals like bats, or even eat fruits or vegetables that are open or bitten by bats or any other birds or animals.

Contact Tracing :

contact tracing and quarantine for 14 days was the only way to control the outbreak of the Nipah virus.

CORONA VIRUS or Covid 19 is the most recent outbreak and Contact tracing was highly practiced throughout the world for the same.
It was first seen In Wuhan, China now every part of the world has Covid-19 positive cases.

Signs and symptoms

fever

chills

headache

An electroencephalogram (EEG) is often used to measure brain, or neural, activity. Research suggests that transcendental meditation – TM – produces a simplified state of rest and relaxation resulting in an EEG with smaller than normal 22 variance. Suppose normal brain activity has a variance of σ^2 =15volts. A random sample of patients who can achieve the state of consciousness associated with TM will be selected and their brain activity will be measured during meditation. The resulting information will be...
