As you know, “extended failure modes” must be considered when
implementing distributed
systems. You have now developed a simple multi-threaded server
using both connection oriented
(stream) and connectionless (datagram) sockets. Briefly discuss the
types of extended
failures that could occur in each implementation. Can some failures
occur in one
implementation but not the other? Explain!
Some of the type of extended failures which occur due to implementation because of the following:
1) Improper operation: Where the equipment operators get the in-depth training about the operators, procedures, troubleshooting, best practices as well as equipment.
2) Failure for performing the preventive maintenance
3) Failure for continuous monitoring equipment.
It might so happen that one failure can happen in one implementation while not the other one.
