This type of transport is required for moving solute from a lower concentration area to a higher concentration area

Active transport

Simple diffusion

Exocytosis

Facilitated diffusion

Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans: Active transport: It transport the molecules from lower concentration area to higher concentration and mediated by carrier proteins and requires ATP as energy source.

Simple diffusion: In this molecules simply dissolve in phospholipid bilayer and diffuses across it. It transport molecules from higher concentration to lower concentration. Simple diffusion is non selective transport by which any molecule which can dissolve in the plasma membrane can equilibriates the concetration of molecules between inside and outside the cell.

Fascilated diffusion : It is similar to simple diffusion but it requires carrier protein to transport molecules from higher to lower concentration and it is selctive in nature.

Exocytosis: It is the prcess by which cells secretes the molecules outside the cells. It does not depends on the concentration gradients.

Hence option A is correct. Active transport allow the transport of molecules from lower to higher concentration.

Solute concentration is defined as the amount of the solute present in a given volume of solution. The concentrations of solutes in a solution are key to their ability to produce physiological actions. One measure of the amount of a substance is its mass expressed in grams. The unit of volume in the metric system is a liter (L). The concentration of a solute in a solution can then be expressed as the number of grams of a substance present...
