Devise a plan for encouraging cooperation of the toddler or preschooler during various parts of the physical examination

Toddler or preschooler are vibrant in nature and they are always on the go and their cooperation during the physical examination can be difficult. While, physical examination, you can follow certain steps to gain the cooperation from the toddler -

• Talk to the toddler friendly.
• Ask about the favourite toy of the toddler.
• Ask if he needs a toy and provide if there is one.
• You can even play a rhyme or tell a story according to the interest of the toddler.
• When the toddler attention is deviated by the rhyme or story do the physical examination.
• If the toddler is still not cooperative try giving chocolate or any snack of choice so that the toddler cooperates in physical examination.
• You can even allow to slide or any play available in the play area in various steps of physical examination. This ensures the good cooperation in various parts of physical examination like head, chest , abdomen and extremities .
