In the moment case, there was an extortion or fraud being executed at the work place. As a laborer, the server or waitress has an obligation to report any case of misrepresentation occurring at the work place, uncommonly when the proprietor has explicitly recruited her for the reason.

Having found the misrepresentation/fraud, the waitress is duty bound to report the issue to the Owner right away.
