You have been hired as an informatician at a state health department. The health department is developing systems to receive laboratory and clinical case reports from clinical settings, such as hospitals and doctor's offices. Your state has had an immunization registry in operation for several years and has been successful in getting cooperation from healthcare settings to send data to the system
What is the difference between the information required to report the administration of an immunization and the information required to report a person with a communicable disease?
The difference between the information required to report the administration of an immunization is associated with what percentage of people, childrens are vaccinised yearly in a state. Mainly the basic immunization such as BCG, Hepatitis B virus , tetanus , etc.
And reporting a person with a communicable disease is specific information that needed to communicated with a patient by maintaining the confidentiality of the patient reports. For eg. If a person is affected with HIV disease so he or she needs to be communicated these information in private and he or she should understand that this virus can affect other individual through sexual intercourse. Similarly is the case with Tuberculosis as it can spread through droplets so person should maintain own safety through maintaining hygiene environment as such practises can help him to avoid further infection as in both above discuss infection patient own immune system is on the weaker side and their condition can become much weaker through practising unhealthy habits.
