Incidental exercise are exercise activities that should be done without spending extra time for exercise. That exerxises should make as a part of our daily life/routine.

The nurse should encourage the patient to do incidental exercise in various ways 1) Tell patients to  walk as much as possible don't use wheelchairs or other transportation equipment. 2) encourage them to use stairs instead of lifts. 3) Tell them to take a small walks before meals. 4) Encourage small group walk among patients 5) Encourage to take deep inspiration and expiration this will improve oxygenation of body and improve circulation. 6) Encourage self massage body using oil or any nourishing solution before bath , this will keep the skin healthy. 7) Encourage old age patient to do small recreational activities and indoor games this type of activities will help to move their body improve health. 8) Provide them a routine plan which consists of small incidental exercises including walking , small gaming 9) Advice them to do religious practices which include small activities, just like prayer. 10) Encourage to do cleaning activities of their surroundings such as window cleaning, make their bed tidy. 11) Advice them to do works with standing position. 12 ) Teach them stretching activities when they are lying or sitting on bed. These are some of incidental excercises that can be given to older patients.
