1). What is the difference between a t-test for independent samples and a t-test for dependent samples?
2). Provide one study that would be analyzed using a t-Test for dependent samples; then provide one study that would be analyzed using a t-Test for independent samples
1) t-test for Dependent samples are paired measurements for one set of items. t-test for Independent samples are measurements made on two different sets of items. When you conduct a hypothesis test using two random samples, you must choose the type of test based on whether the samples are dependent or independent.
2) t-Test for dependent samples is used for testing when we are testing the effect of a drugs on a sample of patients, First the patients are observed with no drugs and then the same patients are treated with the new drugs . And then the difference is observed.
t-Test for dependent samples is used for testing the effect of technique of study for a group of student. First the students are divided into two groups. First group receives the traditional study technique and the second group receives the new study techique. Now the both groups final grades are observed and compared.
