Medical terminology is a language between health care personnel which eases medical proceeding and helps in faster communication and documentation. It is usually taught by body parts and system(anatomy and physiology). If you want to perform and work efficiently in health care , you should be familiar with medical terminologies.
The medical assistant must properly prepare and maintain patient records. Patient records, also known as charts, contain important information about a patient's medical history and present condition. Patient records serve as communication tools as well as legal documents. They also play a role in patient and staff education and may be used for quality control and research. Medical terminology is the basic language used to describe symptoms , diagnosis, ,medical instruments and tests that need to be ordered and ran. Sometimes common abbreviations are used in medical terminology(Ex: OD/ once in a day, MI/myocardial infarction, CBC/ complete blood count). In emergency situation proper medical terminology used in the chats can highly healpful. A proper Medical terminology can clearly explains the six Cs of charting are the client's words, clarity, completeness, conciseness, chronological order, and confidentiality.
