Computer programs can be used to make decisions about your insurance as well as the rates you will be charged for health and life insurance policies. For example, certain preexisting conditions may raise your insurance premiums considerably. Is it ethical for insurance companies to access your health records and then make insurance decisions about you? Explain your answer.
It is not ethical for insurance companies to do so. They can access anyone's information without his or her knowledge. This would be a information or data theft. Without the knowledge of any person using his or her data for any purpose in a crime. It would be good for insurance companies to first take permissions from the person and then make any of the decision. Or they can use the previously gathered information from right means to predict the health insurance plans for a person.
