These are the three most prominent ways that therapeutic agents are found:
(1) a completely new agent (the actual chemical structure) that binds to a known receptor, but elicits a
different patient outcome due to more selective binding, reduced adverse effects, etc.
(2) a new use for a known drug or agent – sometimes this is already used “off-label” or has colloquial
usage for this indication, but the specific mechanism has not been identified or clinical trials not run
(3) a new mechanism is one that has not been previously approved for that disease state – usually from a
reported case study, novel presentation/response, or years of dedicated research
Your will need to:
Identify a disease state that you would like to “treat”
Identify which of the above three you will attempt
Develop a strategy and fill in rationale/background for your design

I would like to treat covid 19 because this is an havoc more than a disease, whole world is facing this pandemic yet now no actual treatment or vaccine is known, only symptomatic and ventilatory support is going on .Many trials are running across the world and also in us but the actual success is not yet achieved.

I will attempt the first one i.e a completely new agent (the actual chemical structure) that binds to a known receptor, but elicits a
different patient outcome due to more selective binding, reduced adverse effects, etc. because clinical trials are very important before approving any drug for covid 19 some patients get benefit with some drug and others not, because every person is having different metabolism and so different drug response to overcome all these facts trial is the key which can prove some actions are occurring similarly in every person.

My strategy is that the CDC and WHO should have to trial for all those drugs which acts to deatroy heamagglutinin esterse and also have ability to destroy spike protein, nucleoprotein and also which can inhibit reverse transcriptase enzyme so when multiple structures of this virus are hitted then this virus can be destroyed. This is my strategy this can be wrong but may be tried. Another thing is that if we develop any drug which can boost our immune system this can also be helpful in destroying virus.
