5 Step Problem Solving Process is as
follows:
- IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM
- ANALYZE THE PROBLEM
- DEVELOP A SOLUTION
- IMPLEMENT THE SOLUTION
- EVALUATE THE SOLUTION
Here the patient's blood pressure is 94/60mmof
Hg.
Problem
identification
- We have identified the problem as Hypotension, as
patient's BP measures 94/60mm of Hg.
Analyze
the problem
- Here we need to find what is the exact cause for low
blood pressure. It can be due to dehydration, diuretics,
antihypertensives, postprandial hypertension, pregnancy or
shock.
- Check the signs and symptoms exhibited by the patient.
Lethargy, fainting, rapid pulse rate, headache etc.
Develop a
solution
- After finding out the exact cause for low blood
pressure, check out the possible solutions. It can be asking
patient to take more oral fluids or administration of IV fluids,
position changing or medications.
Implement
the solution
- Select one suitable solution from the solutions that we
have selected for the problem identified and implement
it.
Evaluate
the solution
- Evaluation means how the patient is responding to the
solution that we have implemented. To check whether it is
positively or negatively effecting. If that particular solution is
a failure go for the next suitable solution.
So through these 5 steps , problems
can be solved and proper decisions can be made.
