Geometry used in Architecture/ Engineering
- One way architect use geometry is with angle measurement. An
architect must know what degree us an angle. For example: you are
making a rectangular shaped table. You must know the angle
measurements so you can build it.
- In other way architect use in geometry is by certain shapes of
buildings. Architect must know the perimeter and area of the shape
to create the building.
- Another way architect use geometry is by using the pythagorean
theorem for the design and measurements of building structures,
bridges and other structures.
- (use of parts of circle) An ‘architectural doughnut’ is a
building with a plan consisting of two concentric circles. Two
types are distinguished: the ‘ring doughnut’ where the central
circle is a courtyard, and the ‘jam doughnut’ where some important
central space (the ‘jam’) is surrounded by a ring of smaller spaces
