Business policy: China versus Australia:
-- In Australia, the management in businesses is usually to be fairly 'flat'. The responsibility and information can flow upwards and sideways in an organisation. On contrary in China the businesses is hierarchical which means that the responsibility and information can be passed down on an ‘as needs’ basis
-- Contracts: In Australia, contracts are the main component of commercial relationships; while in China the terms of contracts and business plans are merely guidelines which can be placed on a secondary importance to the relationship.
--Business style: Business people in Australia usually direct and will not hesitate to discuss upfront what it is required. Business people in China are usually indirect, guarded and reluctant for providing the details on their interests or ultimate desires.
--The pace of business: The pace of business in Australia is fast; while in China the transactions needs long lead time and a long process of courting, with several meetings, business trips, banquets, and social events
