what is a good hypothesis/prediction I can use for a scientific essay I'm writing for penicillin (antibiotic) can you give me ideas? and can you please describe the source of the compound in your own words please don't copy and paste something you find online and can you write neatly
In science, there is nothing like good or bad hypothesis. All has to be very open to the ideas. Hypothesis is based on the literature study for the reference compound / thing to be used in the further study. If we are proposing something for the further work/ research, that has to be based on some strong idea / evidence and that is the key factor which will define whether it a good or bad hypothesis. As hypothesis are not always right.
For eg. Suppose Im trying to develope an anti cancerous drug with lesser side effects and of low cost as compared to the present known drugs. So before starting. we should know about the structure, nature and properties of the compound/ s to be used against cancer cells. Our body should maintain homeostasis , most important less toxic to other body cells and our body should have high immunity too in the presence of this drug against cancer cells. All these factors need to be keep in mind before suggesting any hypothesis.
Likewise, you want to write an an assay on Penicillin. Penicillin antibiotics were the first medications to be effective against many bacterial infections.
So to write an assay for Penicillin first you should go through a literature study like:
You should first know that its an antibiotic which you have already mentioned.
It work as a group of antibiotic or a single one and how it works and all this things will be your introduction part.
Next, it is mentioned here that it is an antibiotic, you one should be completely clear whether it is a medication against bacterial infections or virus etc. It will give some base to your hypothesis.
There are many types of penicilin, so decide from which you want to continue the work and its mode of action.
Next, you should choose the antibiotic resistant strains to whom you want to work and decide what type of modifications you can do to make your hypothesis right and work successful. This will decide your objectives, materials and methadology.
Next based on your observations you can get the result and finally the discussion part. This all will finally prove the status of your hypothesis.
