Explain Mexico progress program in your own words and talk about the DID MODEL in this program. And the impact of enrolment's rate in this program. thanks in advance!

Introduction :

It originated from Progress in 1997, which in 2002 took the name of OPORTUNIDADES ,i.e. government social assistance program in Mexico. Which is the DID model and focused on the following -

• Poverty reduction ;
• via giving cash for school attendance
• for visiting health centers
• And for nutrition support

Features :

• Conditional cash transfer (CCT) for availing the public services for education and health
• The recipients of the program were held responsible for children and health decision
• Cash given directly to families to avoid corruption and overhead costs
• To have effectiveness there is system of evaluation and statistical control
• Selection of recipients on geographical and socioeconomic factors
• Had given level of targets

Impact on enrollment rate :

This has improved the enrollment and nutrition rate in the children.

However in rural areas it is still low , with in 18 years of age only 36% have done above primary studies . But in primary schools the continuation rate is of 95% in each grade with performance 85% children do actually does full primary schooling. From this 72.4% tend to enter the secondary school from which 75.1% of total boys and 69.4% of total girls enter the secondary school. This result has been similar to parsimonious structural model

Conclusively , it has been more of success not only in Mexico but also at global level with its evaluation done by International Food Policy Reseach Institute.
