3. Surgical technologist plays vital role in the OT risk management.

These include

patient identification,

Right patient identification should be done by the technologist to avoid harm errors. And must be done by full name and MR number

Surgical site validation

Lots of errors happening inthe world as the wrong surgical site. The technologist must confirm this before the incision.

Instrument counts

Important because the instruments are left inside the inscision.

The OT trchnician has a vital role in patient hand over while receiving the patint and proper hand over to be given while discharging the patient from the OT.

Also have a vital role in surgical checklist and bodyily positioning.

4. The student surgical technologist having the role same as the surgical technologist. He must be under the guidance of the surgical technologist on duty. He should not do any thing without the knowledge of the surgical technologist.

He must be knowing all the roles of the surgical technologist so that the chance of error can be reduced. He must has to gain good communication skills, He must have a good concentration on the procedure. Also he should have a good willingness to learn about the risk factors in OT and he must be dedicated and reliable.

The surgical thechnology student has only having the internal enquiry and action regarding the liability.

But he cant be legally liable for the issues happened because he will be considered as a technician after his completion of the registration. During the academic time he will posted under a registered technician only. So legally he excempted from the issue happened.
