Do you find the US should play an increasing or decreasing role in determining refugee and/or TPS (temporary protected status) of individuals displaced by war, trauma, or lack of economic opportunity?
The TPS beneficiaries are welcomed in the American economy and
society. They have lived for 19 years and are also employed at high
rates. America plays an increasing role in TPS and determining
refugee. The country gave shelter to many individuals displaced by
war, climatic destructions, trauma and lack of economic
opportunities. Also, the US Department of DHS allows the TPS
holders to protect the expiration of their immigration status. But,
in the coming times, they’ll face the difficult choice of returning
to their homelands which are still facing the same conditions which
led to such situation with the individuals.
The US state has the discretion to grant TPS to the individuals
from the countries suffering conflicts, climatic disasters,
economic crisis, war or any other temporary conditions. TPS is
granted to the individuals for a set period of about 6 to 18
months. Generally, America supports and provide necessary
facilities for the TPS holders to survive in the country but when
it comes to the individuals going back to their homelands their
many documentations and conditions for the individuals to be
fulfilled for the same.
