Because of the coronavirus crisis, many people have lost jobs and young students are not able to find jobs. The government of Canada has stepped in to help people in this kind of situation with regular payments called emergency benefits. Are these payments also acting as incentives for people make decisions to help reduce the spread of coronavirus? Explain.
Answer- Yes , these incentives are enabling people to reduce the exposure to corona virus. Many people have become unemployed during the phase of this pandemic. Hence they suffered from acute scarcity of funds and were finding difficult to earn the living. In such a condition , the spending and incentives provided by government in form of direct emergency transfer will enable people to carry out their consumption without going out and getting exposed to virus and spreding it further. If they will go out in search of work there are greater chances to get affected. Also the people will have able to buy sanitisers , masks etc with these incentives and protect themselves.
