In some states, the use of marijuana is now legal, so a majority of the citizens evidently regard it as morally acceptable. In other states, however, the use of marijuana is illegal, so a majority of the citizens in those states evidently regard it as morally unacceptable. Furthermore, given that most states at this time disapprove marijuana use, a majority of citizens in the country as a whole likely regard it as morally unacceptable. The dilemma for those who say that moral questions are decided by the majority is that in this case, there are a number of majorities, and they disagree with one another.

Make a decision regarding this dilemma based on what you learned in this chapter.

Answer:- It is argued that a puff of marijuana is similar to a glass of wine, then, why favorite wine but not marijuana. However, the decision whether use of marijuana is ethical or unethical and should be legal or illegal is quite simple that it should be illegal and is unethical. There are many points in favor of our decision. Some of them are discussed below: 1) Marijuana is fat soluble but alcohol is water soluble. Due to this, marijuana persists in fatty portions of body like brain for a longer periods of time. 2) Marijuana contains more intoxicants than alcohol. 3) THC content of marijuana has become higher since 1970s, hence, marijuana has become more potent. 4) THC affects neurotransmitter dopamine hence, marijuana affects emotional health of person. 5) A number of researchers found that marijuana use has deleterious effects on the brain. Researchers found that even weekly use showed brain abnormalities.

6) Use of Marijuana causes memory loss and attention deficiency, affects verbal skills. 7) Use of marijuana affects seriously while driving. It increases the response time of body which becomes dangerous in emergency situations. 8) The Bible also speaks against drunkenness and drug abuse. 9) Advocated of marijuana use say that "Man made beer. God made weed". Marijuana is considered good as it is natural. But we know that poisonous plants, berrys, and so many diseases like cancer are never good to have however, all these are natural. 10) Marijuana is however nearly impossible to overdose and is less addictive than alcohol. However, ever a small dose of marijuana affects the persons very badly. All these points can be considered to decide that use of marijuana should be illegal and is unethical.
