The four levels of conceptualization of leadership are as follows-
1. Intra individual processes- in this process the leadership involves the influence between the individuals who are working together as a team. The psychological theories which are involved in decision making motivation and cognition explains the behavior of an individual leader towards his team.
2. Dyadic processes- this process focuses more on the relationship between a leader and another individual who is the follower in his team. The effectiveness of an leader cannot be understood without examining how leaders and followers influence each others behavior over a long time period. The key questions a leadership should always ask is how to develop a Cooperative trust relationship with a follower and how a leader can influence the follower to be more motivated and connected towards the goal of the organization.
3. Group processes- in this process the nature of the leadership role towards a group is how he contribute to the effectiveness of the group which is leading. The leaders should involve in regular meetings in order to make the groups more effective. Small groups have been identified as important determinants of effectiveness their behavior can be linked to quality and decision acceptance given to them by The leader.
4. Organizational processes- this level of analysis describe the leaders as a process which occurs in a open system and the followers are groups which form a part of the subsystem. This type of leadership roles holds responsibilities which include planning of the Organization structure and determining the authority, relationship and then coordinating them across the different sub units within the organization in order to achieve the organization goals and effectiveness.

The level of conceptualization of leadership suits the community best of South Africa is the group processes this is because people in South Africa have the behavior of performing towards the task given to them by the leader, they have this quality inherent in them which is obeying to the leader. Unlike the western countries like the United States of America which follow individualism South Africa follows collectivism. The leadership functions make the group meetings in South Africa to be more effective in guiding the people towards achieving the goals of the organization.
