American politics minimises the distinction between Government and NGOs what are pros and cons ?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer: Government is basically a group or association of people who have the administrative and regulative power to govern a particular teritory. On the other hand a NGO is a non government organisation and works for the social needs if people, it is independent if the government. There are auite some similarities due to which the American politics minimises the distiction between the government and a NGO. It is mainly because the government helps in the fund raising activity of the NGO but has no other link to an NGO.

Some pros and cons of the above mentioned situation are :-

PROS :- • NGO’s funds are raised by the government which helps in it’s working and covering for it’s expenses.

• NGO’s administration is controlled by the government and this helps it in managaing and regulating itself according to the way it wants.

• The relation of NGO’s with the government body helps in their social awaremess and helps let more people know about it’s services. This eventually helps in fulfilling the NGO’s overall objective.

CONS:- • It is generally seen in todays world that government and any body related with it is not efficient and not operating as effectively as the private sector. Thus, due to this a NGO might also be seen as an inefficient body.

• One major drawback is that due to this the NGO’s are seen to have lost their transparency and accountability. This has led to politisation of the NGO body.

• Due to such relation the NGO’s have lost the trust people used to have and have also encountered many security issues.
